Transferring a reklamniy kabinet (ad account) from one Business Manager to another is a routine operation for arbitrageurs working with multiple accounts or scaling their campaigns. The process is straightforward if you follow the right steps and understand what happens at each stage.
Why You Might Need to Transfer an Ad Account
You transfer ad accounts between Business Managers for several reasons:
- Scaling up: Moving a tested account with a proven history to a fresh BM to increase spending limits.
- Risk distribution: Spreading accounts across multiple Business Managers so a single ban doesn't kill your entire operation.
- Account separation: Keeping different campaigns or geos in separate BMs for cleaner structure.
- Selling or buying: Transferring ownership of a working account to another person or team.
How the Transfer Works
The ad account itself doesn't move. What actually happens is you remove it from one BM and add it to another. The account keeps its history, spending limits, and trust level — nothing resets.
Facebook ties the ad account to a fan-page (fan-page acts as the anchor). When you move the account, you're essentially moving that link.
Step-by-Step Transfer Process
From the Old Business Manager
Log into the BM where the ad account currently lives. Go to Settings → Ad Accounts. Find the account you're moving and click on it. Select "Remove" or "Remove Ad Account." Confirm the action. The account is now unlinked but still exists and keeps all its data.
Adding to the New Business Manager
Log into the new Business Manager. Go to Settings → Ad Accounts. Click "Add" and choose "Request Access to an Ad Account." Enter the ad account ID (you'll find it in the old BM under account details). Facebook sends a request to the account owner. Once approved, the account appears in your new BM.
If you own both Business Managers, you approve the request immediately. If transferring to someone else's BM, they approve it on their end.
Reconnecting the Fan-Page
After the ad account moves, check that the fан-page is still linked. Go to the ad account settings in the new BM. Verify the fан-page connection. If it's broken, link it again through Business Managers settings.
What Stays and What Changes
Stays the same: Spending history, daily limits, trust level, all previous campaigns and their data, billing information tied to the account, any existing restrictions or PZRD status.
Changes: The owner and access permissions (now controlled by the new BM), payment method if you set a new one in the new BM, user roles and who can manage it.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Removing before requesting access: Don't remove the account from the old BM until it's fully added to the new one. If you remove it first, you lose access and can't re-add it without the original owner's help.
Forgetting the fan-page: The ad account needs a fан-page to function. If the link breaks during transfer, your account won't show ads. Always verify the connection after moving.
Transferring with active campaigns: You can move an account with running campaigns, but they'll pause briefly during the transfer. Better to move when campaigns are off or during low-traffic hours.
Not checking permissions: After transfer, make sure the right people have access in the new BM. Old users from the previous Business Manager won't automatically keep access.
Timing and Downtime
The transfer itself takes a few minutes. Campaigns pause during the move and restart once the account is fully added to the new Business Manager. Total downtime is usually under 30 minutes, but plan for up to an hour to be safe.
If you're moving an account with active spending, do it outside peak hours so you don't lose traffic during the pause.
