Why BMs get banned right after purchase

A fresh Business Manager often hits a ban within hours of setup. This isn't always a defect—it's usually Facebook's automated security catching something. The platform flags new BMs for review when they:

  • Connect to accounts with red flags. If you link a BM to an old farmed account or one with payment issues, Facebook reviews the whole structure.
  • Get hit by account-level bans. Sometimes the ad account or fan page you're attaching already has restrictions. The BM inherits the problem.
  • Show unusual setup patterns. Rapid changes, new payment methods, or linking multiple high-risk assets in one session trigger review queues.
  • Land in a review batch. Facebook periodically audits new Business Managers for policy violations. Bad timing means your BM catches a wave.

What to check before asking for a replacement

Before you request a swap, verify the actual issue. A ban message doesn't always mean the BM itself is dead.

Check the ad account status

Open the BM. Look at the ad account tied to it. If that account shows a restriction or warning, the BM might be fine—the ad account is the problem. You can't fix that by replacing the BM.

Check the fan page

If you're using a BM with FP, inspect the page. Facebook sometimes restricts pages before restricting the BM. The BM gets flagged because it's attached to a compromised asset.

Check payment method and billing

Declined payments or mismatched billing info trigger holds. Verify your card went through and the address matches Facebook's records. If the card failed, that's not a BM defect.

Wait 24–48 hours

Many bans are temporary review holds. Facebook lifts them automatically once the audit passes. If the BM works after two days, the issue was procedural, not permanent.

When replacement is warranted

You get a replacement if:

  • The BM stays banned after 48 hours with no change in status.
  • You can't access it at all. Login fails, pages won't load, or the interface is completely locked.
  • The ban is permanent. Facebook sends a message saying the BM violates policy and can't be restored. That's final.
  • All attached assets are clean, but the BM itself remains restricted. This means the BM code itself has an issue.

Replacement takes up to 3 hours. We swap it for a working Business Manager at no extra cost.

How to reduce ban risk on new BMs

Set up your BM carefully to avoid triggering review:

  • Attach one asset at a time. Link the ad account first. Wait a few hours. Then add the fan page. Spreading out connections reduces flags.
  • Use verified or PZRD assets. A BM with FP or a verified fan page has less friction. Pair them with clean ad accounts.
  • Don't change payment info immediately. Let the BM settle for a day before updating billing. New card + new BM = automatic review.
  • Keep first campaigns small. Start with low daily budgets. Avoid sudden spending spikes in the first 24 hours.
  • Use residential proxy from the same geo. If your BM is set to USA, connect from a USA residential proxy. Mismatched location flags the account.

BM without FP vs. BM with FP

The format matters for ban likelihood:

Format Ban risk Best for
BM without FP Lower. Fewer assets to audit. Testing, first campaigns, budget-conscious buyers.
BM with FP Slightly higher initially. More connections to review. Established campaigns, higher budgets, long-term runs.
Verified BM Lowest. Pre-vetted by Facebook. High-value accounts, sensitive verticals, minimal downtime.

A ban at launch doesn't mean the format was wrong. It means the setup triggered a review. Most bans clear within 48 hours regardless of format.

Don't confuse bans with policy holds

Facebook distinguishes between a ban and a temporary hold. If you see a message like "Ad account under review" or "Policy review in progress," that's not a ban—it's a hold. The BM works fine; you just can't spend yet. Holds usually lift within 24–72 hours.

A real ban shows "This Business Manager has been disabled" or "Ad account restricted." Those are permanent or require appeal. That's when you request a replacement.

What our guarantee covers

We replace a BM if it arrives banned or becomes inaccessible within the first 3 hours of setup. We don't replace it if:

  • The attached ad account or fan page has restrictions (you chose the assets).
  • Payment method failed (that's your billing issue).
  • You changed settings and triggered a review (that's account management, not a defect).

Always check the attached assets and payment status before contacting support. Most "bans" are holds or asset-level issues, not BM defects.
