You've just bought a Business Manager. The clock is ticking, and you have a narrow window to act. Within 3 hours, you need to complete the handover and secure access before the seller can no longer help you if something goes wrong. Miss this window, and you're on your own.

This isn't bureaucracy—it's a practical deadline. If the BM has issues, the seller needs to be available to sort them out together. After 3 hours, support becomes your problem.

Step 1: Log In and Check Access

First thing: log into the BM with the credentials you received. Don't wait. Do it immediately. Business Managers

  • Use a clean browser session or antidedetect. Open the BM in the same environment where you'll be working with it. If you're using an antidetect, set it up there now, not later.
  • Verify you can actually access it. Some BMs come with restrictions or require additional steps. You need to know this right away, not after the seller has logged off.
  • Check if 2FA is enabled. If it is, make sure you have the key or backup codes. Test them. A BM locked behind 2FA you can't access is worthless.

Step 1: Log In and Check Access

Step 2: Secure Your Access

Once you're in, change the password. Do this before anything else.

  • Create a strong, unique password. Write it down in your password manager, not a sticky note.
  • Update the email address if needed. If the BM came with an email you don't control, ask the seller to help you change it to one of yours. This needs to happen while they're still available.
  • Add yourself as an admin. Make sure your account has full permissions on this Business Manager. Check the roles and assets section—you should see yourself listed.

Step 3: Verify the Assets

Check what's actually attached to this BM. The description said one thing, but reality might differ.

  • Count the ad accounts. How many are there? Are they active or restricted?
  • Look at the pages. If the BM came with a fan page, make sure it's there and you have admin access to it.
  • Check for any red flags. Disabled accounts, pending reviews, or restrictions show up here. If you see them, contact the seller immediately—you're still within the window.

Step 4: Test the Ad Account

If an ad account is included, open it and look around. You don't need to launch a campaign yet—just verify it works.

  • Can you see the Ads Manager? If it's grayed out or shows an error, the account might have restrictions.
  • Check the payment method. Is there a card attached? Is the account in good standing, or is there a billing issue?
  • Look at the account history. Recent activity, previous campaigns, or warnings will show here. If something looks off, ask the seller about it now.

Step 5: Document Everything

Take screenshots of the key screens: the Business Manager dashboard, the list of ad accounts, the pages, and any assets. Screenshot the account status too. This is your proof of what you received.

If there are any issues—a page you were promised isn't there, an account is restricted, or access doesn't work—document that too and contact the seller before the 3 hours are up.

Step 5: Document Everything

Step 6: Confirm the Handover

Before the seller disappears, confirm that the handover is complete. Tell them you've logged in, changed the password, and verified the assets. If they need to remove themselves from the BM or transfer ownership fully, this is the moment.

Get confirmation in writing—a message saying they've completed their part. This protects you both.

Step 6: Confirm the Handover

What Not to Do

  • Don't ignore access issues. If you can't log in or something feels wrong, contact the seller immediately. Don't wait until tomorrow.
  • Don't change everything at once. Change the password, yes. But don't restructure the entire BM or delete assets in these first hours. You might accidentally break something, and the seller won't be around to help.
  • Don't launch a campaign yet. First verify the account works. Testing is not the same as going live.
  • Don't assume everything is fine. Check each asset. A BM that looks good on the surface might have hidden restrictions.

After 3 Hours

Once this window closes, you own the BM completely. Any issues that come up after this point are yours to solve. If the account gets restricted, if a page disappears, or if you discover the ad account was already flagged—you can't go back to the seller.

That's why these 3 hours matter. Use them to verify everything, secure your access, and catch problems while the seller is still reachable.
