You've bought a Wise account and got access credentials. The first hours are critical — you need to verify the account works and is ready to bind to your payment system. Don't assume everything is fine just because you received login data. Run through these checks before you start using it.

Login and Access Verification

Open the Wise app or web version and enter the credentials you received. If the account won't open, contact support immediately — you've got a nevValid account and it needs replacing.

Once you're in, check two things:

  • 2FA status. If the account came with 2FA (it should be noted in the product description), enter the backup key or authenticator code. Wise accounts with 2FA are more secure and less likely to trigger verification requests when you bind them to ad accounts.
  • Email confirmation. Make sure the email attached to the account is working. You'll need it to confirm transactions and handle any platform requests later.

Account Details and Verification Level

Check the profile section to see what information Wise has on file. Look for:

  • Full name and country. It should match the data you plan to use in your ad accounts. Mismatches cause verification cheks and payment blocks.
  • Verification status. Wise accounts come at different verification levels. A higher level means fewer restrictions when you link the account to Facebook Ads or Google Ads. If the account shows as unverified or partially verified, Wise may ask for documents before you can transfer large amounts.
  • Linked cards or bank accounts. See what payment methods are already attached. If there are old or inactive cards, remove them — they can cause issues when you're setting up new transfers.

Transaction History and Limits

Scroll through the transaction history to check if the account is clean. You're looking for:

  • No failed transactions or chargebacks. These create red flags and can trigger account restrictions.
  • No frozen or pending transfers. If money is stuck, the account has problems you need to know about before you invest time in it.
  • Current spending limits. Wise sets daily and monthly limits based on verification level and account age. Check what your limits are right now. If they're too low for your budget, you may need to wait for the account to age or submit additional verification.

Binding to Payment Systems

Before you connect the Wise account to Facebook Ads or Google Ads, test it with a small transfer first. This step saves you from discovering problems when you're already in the middle of a campaign.

  • Add a test card or bank account. Link a small payment method and run a micro-transaction. If it fails, you'll know the account has restrictions before you bind it to your ad account.
  • Check currency support. Wise works with multiple currencies. Make sure the account supports the currency you need for your ad campaigns.
  • Confirm transfer speed. Wise transfers usually complete within hours, but the exact timing depends on the destination bank and currency pair. Test this with a real transfer so you know what to expect.

Security and Account Integrity

Before you start actively using the account, secure it:

  • Change the password if you haven't already. Use a strong password and store it in your password manager.
  • Check active sessions. Wise shows where and when the account was last accessed. If you see logins from unfamiliar locations or times, the account may have been compromised. Request a replacement.
  • Enable notifications. Turn on transaction and login alerts so you're immediately notified if someone else tries to access the account.

Common Issues and What They Mean

Account locked or restricted. This usually means Wise detected unusual activity or the account failed verification. Contact Wise support, but also contact the seller — this is grounds for a replacement.

2FA not working. If the backup key doesn't work, you're locked out. The seller should provide a working key or help you disable 2FA temporarily. If neither is possible, ask for a replacement account.

Email not receiving confirmations. Wise sends transaction and security emails to the registered address. If nothing arrives, check spam, then ask the seller to help you update the email. A non-functional email makes the account unreliable.

Low or zero limits. New accounts start with restricted limits. This is normal, but if limits are extremely low (under your minimum spend), the account may need time to age or additional verification to unlock higher limits.

When to Request a Replacement

You have the right to replace the account if:

  • It won't log in at all.
  • 2FA doesn't work and can't be fixed.
  • The email is dead and can't be recovered.
  • The account is frozen, locked, or under investigation by Wise.
  • Verification level is so low it blocks your ability to use the account for payments.

Contact support within 48 hours if you find critical issues. The sooner you report a problem, the sooner you get a working replacement.

When to Request a Replacement

Ready to Bind

Once you've confirmed the account logs in, 2FA works, email is active, limits are acceptable, and there are no red flags in the history, you're ready to connect it to your ad accounts. Wise accounts are reliable payment tools when they're set up right from the start. Take the time to verify everything now, and you'll avoid payment blocks and verification headaches later.
